Katy Perry unveiled a brand-new performance video of her latest single “Smile” on Tuesday (July 14).
In the kooky clip, the pregnant pop star dresses up in her most fashionable clown attire, wearing an orange, polka-dotted blazer and matching blue jumper with whimsical tuxedo detailing across the front.
“Yeah, I’m thankful/ Scratch that, baby, I’m grateful/ Gotta say it’s really been a while/ But now I got back that smile/ I’m so thankful/ Scratch that, baby, I’m grateful/ Now you see me shine from a mile/ Finally got back that smile, smile,” Perry croons on the joyful chorus as she performs the track backed by a number of giant clown hands, seated atop a comically oversized clown shoe and more.
Elsewhere in the clip, the miniaturized singer balances on her very own grin and nearly gets carried away by a bouquet of bright yellow balloons stamped with her initials.
“Smile” serves as the title track for the pop star’s upcoming fifth studio album, which is set to be released Aug. 14 via Capitol Records. The LP will also feature lead single “Daisies” as well as Perry’s 2019 one-offs “Never Really Over” and “Harleys in Hawaii.”
