5 Seconds of Summer unveiled their dreamy new video for “Wildflower” on Thursday (April 16), and it’s a colorful fantasy land that matches perfectly with the song’s happy, falling in love theme.
The colorful Andy DeLuca and Sarah Eiseman-directedvisual came to life after the band’s original shoot was cancelled amid the coronavirus crisis. Instead, the boys shot “Wildflower” individually on a green screen at each band member’s doorway.
The result is a kaleidoscopic fantasy world that sees the band giddily singing among animated flowers and tie-dyed backgrounds. “You’re the only one who makes me / Every time we / I’ll tell you what I like / My wildflower,” they sing in the chorus.
“Wildflower was the wildcard of the album. A song that has opened new avenues for this band to explore,” Calum Hood said in a press statement. “Most importantly it just feels good to listen to and disconnect for a minute. We really feel this video reflects that too and hope you all enjoy!”
“Wildflower” is featured on 5SOS’ latest album, Calm. Watch the video below.
