Megan Thee Stallion dropped a new untitled freestyle over the weekend in which she addresses the recent incident in which she was allegedly shot by fellow MC Tory Lanez.
The “WAP” rapper, who celebrated her second MTV VMA win on Sunday night (Aug. 30), had previously posted a video in which she said Lanez had shot her in the feet after a party in the Hollywood Hills last month.
Before the VMA victory, Meg, rocking a yellow string bikini, posted a new freestyle, in which she chills in her kitchen with a laptop, rapping along over a spare beat she said she just found on her hard drive. “Tic tac toe, I X this b—h/ If a hit dog holler, I address that s–t,” she raps before dropping a reference to the alleged incident which Lanez could face assault charges. “Got shot two times and I ate that s–t/ Bounced right back with a Revlon deal.”
Stallion is riding high right now thanks to her hit single with Cardi B, “WAP,” as well as the success of her first virtual concert on Saturday night. The show, during which she honored victims of police brutality, included her signature songs, “Savage” and “Hot Girl Summer.” As the stage lights went down, names including Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, Freddie Gray, George Floyd and Breonna Taylor appeared on a large screen with a short description of how and when the Black men and women were victimized by police violence.
“Why is it so hard being Black in America?” the screen read, while gunshots and church bells could be heard in the background.
