Lizzo and Cardi B offered a glimpse into their visual of their upcoming “Rumors” video on Thursday (Aug. 12), and it might shock you — literally.
Lizzo, who’s credited as the lead artist on the single, posted the trailer on her socials hours before it officially arrives with the song on midnight ET Friday. The visual shows separate shots of the two ancient Greek goddess-looking singers summoning the power of the lightning that strikes behind them, before they come together and create a spark with the touch of their fingertips à la Michaelangelo’s The Creation of Adam.
Cardi, who’s currently pregnant with her and Offset’s second child, shows off her baby bump in a golden two-piece and ancient Greek column cap. While displays her belly in the “Rumors” visual, the rapper was reluctant to show her stomach during the “Wild Side” music video with Normani, but joked that she would’ve contributed to the choreo-heavy video if she wasn’t expecting. “If I wasn’t pregnant I would of done a lit ass pole video to wildside ….but I am so imma just have to do a video rolling on the floor like peppa pig,” the rapper tweeted in July.
“SNEAK PEEK OF ‘RUMORS’. ARE YALL READY? MIDNIGHT. TONIGHT. @iamcardib,” Lizzo captioned the Instagram clip, to which Cardi responded: “I think they ready now.”
