Katy Perry really stepped up to the plate when she appeared as the celebrity judge on the May 14-dated episode of MasterChef Australia.
With “Hot N Cold” serving as the show’s theme song for the last decade, the down-under edition of MasterChef brought out its secret ingredient with a little something something. A pregnant Perry informed the chefs they would be cooking for two, her and her unborn child, for the challenge.
But the challenge felt two-fold when Perry started singing her 2008 smash that soundtracked these contestants’ journeys, only to be left hanging solo. “They’re like, ‘We don’t care. We are focused on not burning the butter,'” she quipped.
Poh Ling Yeow was too preoccupied with testing the singer’s tastebuds for spice, while Sarah Tiong felt Perry breathe down her neck every time the pop star announced how much time was left on the clock. Simon Toohey later buttered up to her by letting the superstar snack on a candied orange to match her orange leather dress.
