BILLIE EILISH SHARES JAMES BOND THEME FOR ‘NO TIME TO DIE’

Billie Eilish is back with her first song since her record-breaking night at the 2020 GRAMMY Awards, sharing the theme to the upcoming James Bond film, No Time to Die. As with all things Eilish, the singer has set a new standard with the 007 anthem, becoming the youngest ever to write and record a theme for the franchise.

“It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way,” the Album of the Year winner shared in a statement. “To be able to score the theme song to a film that is part of such a legendary series is a huge honor. James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist. I’m still in shock.”

The theme was written by Eilish and her brother FINNEAS. No Time to Die is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga and stars Daniel Craig. It’s allegedly his final time playing the iconic character. The film is in theaters on April 10.

This is the 25th film in the James Bond franchise, and plenty of big names have occupied the opening frames over the years. Duran Duran hit number one in 1985 with their song from “A View to a Kill”, and Paul McCartney and Carly Simon both landed at number two with their 007 original. More recently Adele scored a top ten hit with her “Skyfall” theme and Sam Smith won Best Original Song at the Oscars for “Writing’s On The Wall” from 2016’s Spectre.

Last month, Billie Eilish once again made history at the GRAMMYs, becoming the first woman ever and the youngest artist ever to sweep the top four awards. Eilish starts her Where Do We Go? arena tour in March.
