Disney gave us all the best princesses. Think Snow White, Cinderella, Ariel and Jasmine. Add Billie Eilish — the princess of alternative pop — to that list.
Eilish is getting ready for her Disney debut with Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles, due out Sept. 3 and described as a “cinematic concert experience”.
Ahead of showtime, the entertainment powerhouse presents a first-look at an animated Eilish.
In the moody new clip, the teen phenom can be seen lounging in a room dripping in art deco. When she swivels, the camera moves in and the transformation begins.
The 30-second trailer also gives us a taste of her performance at the Hollywood Bowl, with a full band, including brother Finneas on bass guitar, and a conductor Gustavo Dudamel leading the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
Directed by Robert Rodriguez and Patrick Osbourne, the concert film features intimate performances of every song from Happier Than Ever, in sequential order.
Eilish’s second album should make a big splash on sales charts around the globe. In the U.K., it’s currently outselling the rest of the top 10 combined.
