Longtime LGBTQ ally Kesha appeared during Sunday (April 26) evening’s GLAAD event Together In Pride: You Are Not Alone to perform a heart-rending version of her song “Rainbow.”
“This is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written about seeing a rainbow through a sh-tstorm,” said Kesha, wearing a fashionably ripped white sweater with a rainbow on it. She delivered the emotive title track to her 2017 album Rainbow with tenacity and resolve, something we could all use a bit of these days.
Alongside fellow performers such as Melissa Etheridge and Alex Newell, Kesha was one of numerous LGBTQ luminaries and allies appearing via their homes from quarantine to raise awareness of how hard LGBTQ centers around the country are being hit by drops in donations during the coronavirus pandemic. Donations raised during the event support CenterLink, which distributes funds to more than 250 LGBTQ centers in order to help fund shelters for LGBTQ homeless youth, HIV testing, mental health counseling, medical care and much more.
