Daisy Ridley has made a name for herself by playing Rey in the “Star Wars” sequel trilogy. Now, she’s using her platform to connect with kids who are stuck at home.
Over the weekend, the “Star Wars” actress took part in a reading of children’s book, “BB-8 On The Run.” She also thanked the public for staying inside amid the coronavirus crisis.
The actress celebrated her 28th birthday by taking part in the video Disney posted on Twitter.
The video was captioned, “Use the Force, Rey… to read a story! Join Daisy Ridley as she reads ‘Star Wars: BB-8 On The Run.’ #DisneyMagicMoments.”
“Thank you to everyone staying at home and thank you to everyone out on the front lines helping those in need,” Ridley said. “Please accept my tiny offering of gratitude in the form of storytelling.”
In the video, Ridley does an enthusiastic live reading of the short book. The story takes place during “The Force Awakens” and gives a more in-depth look at the droid, BB-8, the Daily Mail reported.
Fans were excited to see the video and took to Twitter to wish the actress a happy birthday.
One fan said that Ridley was “amazing,” while another said she was “one of the best working actresses today.”
Another person said, “YAYYYYYYY Love her! BB8 and Rey for the win! Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAISY!!!! Thank you for making Rey the kind of person we can all admire and look up to!”
