As coronavirus continues spreading globally, stars are using their platforms to help those who have fallen on hard times.
Many people are being laid off and furloughed, there are food and diaper shortages, and school closures have left many children without access to proper meals.
Oprah Winfrey stepped in to ease some stress by contributing $10 million to coronavirus relief.
The funds will be distributed to several initiatives including America’s Food Fund, launched by Leonardo DiCaprio, which she’s committing a million dollars to.
“While everyone’s priority right now is to stay safer at home, I know there are many of us looking for ways to help,” Winfrey captioned the Instagram video announcing her donation.
“I believe that America’s Food Fund will be a powerful way to make a difference for our neighbors in need,” she added.
Other stars are also doing their part to help those in need.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds donated $1 million to two organizations: Feeding America and Food Banks Canada.
The money will be split between the organizations which operate food banks in the US and Canada and help older adults and low-income families.
Angelina Jolie donated $1 million to No Kid Hungry to help children gain access to meals during this difficult time.
Arnold Schwarzenegger donated $1 million to Frontline Responders Fund to provide supplies to medical personnel and first responders to fight the pandemic.
Other giving celebrities include Rihanna, Kelly Ripa and Mark Conseulos, and Kanye West, according to Good Morning America.
