The 2020 Billboard Music Awards are being postponed, as the world continues to grapple with the outbreak of coronavirus, and experts recommend not gathering in large groups.
This year’s show was scheduled for April 29 in Las Vegas, and was once again set to be hosted by Kelly Clarkson. A new date has yet to be announced.
“In accordance with the current guidelines set forth by national and local health officials and in order to ensure the health and safety of our artists, fans, guests and staff – we are postponing the Billboard Music Awards,” reads a joint statement from dick clark productions and NBC, two foreces behind the broadcast.
“For more than two decades, the Billboard Music Awards has honored the best in music based on the Billboard charts, and we look forward to celebrating the incredible artists who topped those charts over the last year.
Nominations have not yet been revealed for the 2020 edition of the Billboard Music Awards, but it has been announced that Garth Brooks will receive the annual Icon Award.
